Its been storming here daily in central Ohio and the humity is getting out of control. I have my freshly machined motor/heads in my garage on an engine stand, in a trash bag. I removed the heads earlier in the week to get them ready for cams/valvesprings and came home to some surface rust forming on the block deck, cylinder walls, and cam lobes. I imagine this isn't the end of the world, correct? But I would like to remove whats there and prevent anymore from coming back. I was hoping someone with more experience then myself could shed some light on the subject. I found a product online called Mullins Engine Assembly and Break-In Lube, but it $60 and comes in a gallon jug. I think that is overkill for what im doing, plus I have to wait 5 days before its instock and another 3-5 to arrive. I was thinking some light massaging with scotch brite and engine oil, gear oil, or some combination of the two to create a lasting oil film. Any ideas?
